Our First Lady, Leketia Barner Dozier, was born to Mary Lou and the late Izel Barner on February 22, 1956. She has two younger sisters, Greta Brothers and Bridgette Pierce. On January 13, 1985, she married our pastor, Dr. O’Neal Dozier. Just six months later, together Sister Leketia and Rev. Dozier founded The Worldwide Christian Center, now located in Pompano Beach, Florida. First Lady Leketia serves our church in many capacities, including that of ministry and program coordinator, yet she still finds time to reach out to inactive members, encouraging them to be faithful to God and their church.
Sister Leketia graduated from Nova High School in 1973. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, Tallahassee, in 1977. After graduate-level studies in Business Administration at Nova Southeastern University, Sister Leketia was accepted into the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Gainesville. She received her Juris Doctor Law Degree in May of 1983.
Our First Lady is an attorney, licensed to practice law in the State of Florida since 1985 when she was admitted to the Florida Bar. Over the years, she has worked periodically in the legal profession. Her professional experience includes working for Miami criminal defense attorney Joel Hershhorn and for the Krupnick and Campbell Law Firm in Ft. Lauderdale. Our First Lady places a high value on education and has taught in public schools on the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. She has also served in the public school peer counseling program.
Of all her titles and degrees, there is one that our First Lady values above all others. It is an unearned degree, granted through no merit and no works of her own. Sister Leketia cherishes most her BA degree that was planned for her before the foundation of the world by her Heavenly Father, paid in full by her Lord Jesus Christ, and bestowed upon her by the Precious Holy Spirit when she became a Born Again Christian.
